Thornhill Golf & Country Club is a traditional golf, curling, tennis and social club.  Our dress codes reflect and maintain the standards desired by the membership.  Members and their guests are required to conform to the Dress Code Regulations of the Club.  These regulations have been instituted to maintain the standards of good taste and decorum expected of the membership.    Members have the responsibility to inform their guests about the dress code requirements.  Club staff is directed to inform members of any dress code violation. Members and/or their guests who do not immediately rectify the infraction may be asked to leave the Club premises. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action up to and including suspension of membership privileges.

Smart casual dress and appropriate sports attire in the Sunflake, Hawthorne and lounges.  For the guidance of members and their guests, the following are examples of unacceptable attire: jean pants and denim attire, halters, tank tops and attire with predominant commercial designations. Headwear is not to be worn on the main floor of the Clubhouse with the exception of the curling rink and the men’s locker room.  Headwear is not permitted in the Bill Baker Lounge except for females.

Cell phones and pagers should at no time affect the enjoyment of members and guests at your Club.

We request that cell phones and pagers be turned to the vibrate mode while visiting the Club.  The use of cell phones will not take place in the Clubhouse, patios, golf shop or areas where members are assembled, unless it is a medical emergency.  The use of cell phones must be discreet and shall not disrupt other members and guests at the Club.  The use of devices that have e-mail capability are permissible provided they do not adversely affect other members or guests using club facilities.  Members are responsible for ensuring that their guests adhere to this policy.

Alcoholic Beverage Service

The Liquor Laws of the Province of Ontario and Club policies govern members and guests.  Any questions regarding these laws and policies applicable to the Club premises should be directed to the General Manager.  Should the Club suffer any penalty or liability by reason of a breach of these laws by a member or a member’s guest(s), such member shall indemnify the Club to the full extent thereof.
