Georgette (Food & Beverage ): " I started work at Thornhill when I was in grade 11 and continued working through university. I was provided with flexible part-time work during the winter months and had enough full-time work in the summer to pay my way through school. I have now graduated ( B.A. Public Policy & Financial Management) but still work at Thornhill part-time because I do not want to lose contact with the staff. Working at Thornhill provides opportunity for personal and professional growth. The staff and management team create a positive working environment".
Magda (Housekeeping): "I have worked at Thornhill Golf & Country Club for 19 years. My medical, dental and RRSP benefits are very important to me. My supervisors and the Duty Mangers keep me informed of everything that is going on and this is very helpful so I can do my best. I really enjoy when there are curling bonspiels or golf tournaments when we have both members and their guest here. I appreciate that I can have a flexible schedule if I need to take time off for an appointment of a family function".
Charles (Food & Beverage): "I started working at Thornhill in summer of 2006. I find it to be a fun-filled, fast-paced work environment with the opportunity for advancement. There is a well-rounded training program and I appreciated the support in my first weeks here until I was thoroughly comfortable. I find it very valuable that my supervisor works around my school schedule as it can sometimes get quite hectic. I feel we have staff who care and help each other and the members care about the staff and the well-being of the Club".
