Robert Dawes, General Manager
Robert has served as General Manager at Thornhill Golf & Country Club since January 1, 1990. Robert received his post secondary accreditation at York University and Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. He has managed several clubs for the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Toronto. His career has also included working as a Consultant for the industry and he is active in mentoring and promoting club careers within colleges that include Humber, George Brown, Georgian and Holland. Robert has also taught part-time and written curriculum for Humber and Georgian Colleges. Robert is a member of the Canadian Society of Club Managers (CSCM) and the National Golf Course Owners Association of Canada (NGCOA). He states that the main reason he has remained at Thornhill G & C.C. is because of the people he works with. "The staff that I have the privildge to work with has been without question the most important component to my desire to stay at the club".
Jill Walker, Clubhouse Manager
Jill commenced working at Thornhill Golf & C.C. in 1987. Jill had a career in Haematology in Scotland, transferring to a career in banking in Canada and an involvement with the golf industry in both countries. " I enjoy working at Thornhill Golf & Country Club partly because of the variety of work in my position, but it is mainly because of the staff that I have remained here. They are the greatest team that one could wish to work with".
Tim Moore, Head Golf Professional
Born and raised in London, Ontario, Tim worked at the Highland Golf and Country Club under Head Professional Mike Silver for 12 years. A graduate of Bowling Green State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Tim competed, and was a member of the Varsity Golf Team. After graduation Tim began his professional career under Head Professional Neil Verwey at St. Georges Golf and Country Club. Tim spent 8 seasons there until becoming the Head Golf Professional at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club in 2002.Tim is a member service driven professional and strives to create the best Golf Shop team in the country. Tim is a level five TCCP instructor and was recently presented with the Ping Club Fitter of the Year for the Ottawa/Quebec Region. Tim is a second time recipient of this award after receiving it in 2003.
Greg McFarlane, Golf Course Superintendent
Started his career in the golf industry at Bayview Country Club in 1992. He has worked at Thornhill Golf & C. C. for th past 13 years, the first 12 as the Assistant Superintendent and moving to the position of Superintendent in the winter of 2007. Greg graduated from the Golf Course Technician program at Seneca College in 1994 and has also completed the turf grass short course from Cornell University, New York State. His main reason for working at Thornhill for so many years is the enjoyment of working with dedicated people and their shared commitment to providing an exceptional golf experience to it's members.
Angelo Greco, Food & Beverage Manager
Angelo Greco started work at the Club in 1989 and was promoted to the position of Food & Beverage Manager in March 1991. He received his post secondary education at York University. His career in the industry started in 1984 with his full tenure being in private clubs. Angelo is a member of the Canadian Society of Club Manager (CSCM) and serves on the Ontario branch committee for the National Food & Beverage Private Club Association.
